Dorado's web show: a live set, a jam, a bit, a rundown, and whatever happens. Latest episode below, shorts underneath. Seasons are announced on the socials: follow and you will not miss one.
The album Way of the World is about modern living with technology (All the way the World), modern dating (Easy, Met a Girl), the drug and homeless crisis (Zombie RV), using your failures to motivate you to overcome your challenges (Run Up Your Hill), and dreaming of getting away from that Portland winter rain (Spring Break).
Dorado's 2018 album: nine songs, among them a Nirvana cover (Heart Shaped Box) and a new recording of Working Sunday, the opener of the 2007 record Dorado Sound. Drums and bass were engineered by Rob Stroup at 8ball Studios in Portland; Sky Cooper mixed and mastered.
Dorado's first album, recorded in Portland between 2004 and 2006 and released in June 2007. Eleven songs with a horn section, DJs, fiddle and banjo, and some twenty Portland players around Sky Cooper, Morgan Patton and Joe Trump. Working Sunday was recorded again by the trio for Can't Sleep! in 2018.
Sky Cooper was born in Australia. He doesn't really have much of an accent though, it's more east coast sounding. That's because he lived in Boston from 3-10. Now he lives in Portland and plays guitar.
John Gobel
bass/taurus/vox
This dude is crazy. Plus he can play bass, and sing and rap at the same time he plays synth with his foot...
James Ford
drums/sampler/vox
Well, he's the drummer, so, you know...there's not really much to write about. But he's really good, and sometimes he wears hats.
